Inbound Marketing Certified Professional

I just recently took the “Inbound Marketing University” training course and exam. I guess I should smile… because I can now say that I am an “Inbound Marketing Certified Professional,” which is cool for for the 1% of people in the world who actually know what that means. Hehe.

Ok, so I’m being silly. It’s actually pretty cool. And in case you’re not exactly sure what Inbound Marketing means, here’s a quick definition, straight from the certificate itself: “Ron Stauffer – Inbound Marketing Certified Professional: This certificate acknowledges the recipient’s proficiency in Inbound Marketing principles and best practices, including blogging, social media, lead conversion, lead nurturing, and closed-loop analysis.” In plain English, that means I know lots of cool things about blogging, Facebooking, Tweeting, Google Analytics, AdWords, and more. So if you’re stuck and have tried lot of old-fashioned (offline) advertising, maybe your marketing plan needs a kick in the pants from an Inbound Marketing Certified Professional. If so, call me.

  1. Hi Ron,
I have been sifting through your blogs and wonder if you can direct me on a book/course I should take. I have just started to build an e-commerce business for a large automotive group selling car parts across all our 20+ manufacturers. 1 month in and I am picking up the culture however I want to get up to speed much quicker and wondered if you knew of a great book or course that I could use to help me from grass roots level to a decent position of understanding.
We are just about to embark on a new middleware provider and purchase an optimisation service to help with our listings…..so this is the story so far

  2. Hi Gregor, thanks for commenting! I’d be happy to make a recommendation. What kind of topics are you looking for, exactly? SEO, Social Media, Internet Marketing in General, or something else? There are lots of great resources out there and I’d be happy to share some info.

    • Hi Ron,

I suppose I am probably looking for the bible which steers you away from “rookie” errors in the early days of this business. After spending some time with more mature organisations in E-Commerce Vs myself, I have come to realise that part of the key to success seems to lie in the data. I already have around 150K SKU’s live, this will eventually grow to around 1M in 2-3 years.
I definitely need a good person optimising my stock listings, comparing the market, (we just purchased Terapeak) We receive far too many phone calls, much related to the information not being as clear as it should be in my opinion. Until the quality of listings improves, no more SKU’s will be added I hasten to add. As I stated previously, we are moving onto a new middleware provider who can automate our current processes which as I entered the company, were all manual. So we have a plan, I just would like a really good book or set of information to sense check each stage to ensure we continue on the right tracks…………hope that makes an element of sense!
      Best regards
      Gregor Mackie
